The 49th Newcastle Scout troop has been running for over 80 years in the west end of Newcastle. In 2010, we hope to continue with the troops success by taking part in ever more exciting and challenging activities including a large night hike, the Medieval Marra County Camp and our own Summer Camp in Wales.
The 49th Scout troop has three sections, beavers, cubs and scouts who all meet weekly. By entering your username and password in the boxes on the left you can access our programme, recent letters and photos. Information on upcoming events will also be posted on our facebook page.
The beavers and cubs meet in the main hall to participate in varied activities, from simple games, to more advanced badge work. Beavers is for children aged from 6 to 8 and cubs is for those between 8 and 11.
The Scouts meet to do a mixture of activities, games and challenges, which are slightly more challenging as the scout section is for those between 10 and 14 years old. The meeting lasts for 90 minutes.
If you would like to help us raise funds for the troop, you might wish to check our fund-raising page. Anyone can help us reach our target to buy a new roof for the hut!
